- Indemnity, Terms and Conditions & Waiver
Borneo 100 Triathlon – 21 June 2026
- Acknowledgment and Acceptance
By registering for and participating in the Borneo 100 Triathlon, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agreed to abide by all event rules, safety guidelines, and conditions set forth by the Organizer, race officials, and safety personnel.
The Organizer reserves the right to amend, postpone, or cancel any part of the event for safety, weather, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.
- Eligibility and Medical Fitness
- I confirm that I meet the minimum age and category requirements as stated on the event website.
- I am physically fit, adequately trained, and I certify that I have no medical conditions that could endanger myself and others, and I am not aware of any symptoms or underlying issues that could make my participation unsafe.
- I agree to undergo medical checks if required by officials and authorize event medical personnel to provide treatment or arrange transportation in case of emergency.
- I understand that any medical costs incurred will be borne by me.
- Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that participation in a triathlon involves inherent risks including, but not limited to: accidents, illness, dehydration, heat exhaustion, collisions, equipment failure, unpredictable weather, and conditions of the racecourse.
I voluntarily accept and assume full responsibility for all such risks, whether known or unknown.
- Safety and Conduct
- I will comply with all race rules, instructions, and cut-off times set by the Organizer.
- Approved helmets must be worn during the cycling leg.
- Participants may not receive assistance from non-participants during any portion of the event. This includes, but is not limited to, pacing by runners or cyclists, drafting behind motor vehicles, receiving supplies outside of designated aid stations, or using any unauthorized support. Violations may result in time penalties or disqualification in accordance with event rules.
- Unauthorized equipment (e.g., headphones, pedals, fins) is allowed throughout the whole event.
- No drafting for B100 Triathlon.
- I will follow all traffic, safety, and environmental regulations, treating volunteers, officials, and other participants with respect.
- The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify participants for unsafe or unsporting behaviours without refund.
- Equipment Responsibility
I am responsible for ensuring that all my equipment is in safe and serviceable condition suitable for triathlon use. I understand that any malfunction, loss, or damage to equipment is solely my responsibility.
- Medical and Emergency Authority
Medical and emergency support will be available along the racecourse. I agree to follow all instructions from medical or safety personnel. The Organizer may remove any participant from the course if continued participation is deemed unsafe. I agree that such removal is final and will not be grounds for refund or claim of liability.
- Indemnity and Waiver of Liability
In consideration of my participation, I hereby release, indemnify, and hold harmless Grit Event Management, Kelab Triatlon Kuching Selatan, event partners, sponsors, volunteers, officials, local authorities (including Police, Bomba, Marine/Coastal Guard, and Health Department), and property owners of the venue from any and all liability, claims, or demands arising from:
- Injury, illness, or death
- Property loss or damage
- Delay, modification, or cancellation of the event
- Acts of nature, riot, or government order
This waiver applies before, during, and after the event, except where prohibited by law.
- Entries, Transfers, and Refunds
- All entry fees are non-refundable once payment is confirmed, unless specified otherwise by regulation (refer to rules & regulation)
- Entry transfers are not allowed. Category changes before registration closing may be permitted with an administrative fee (RM100).
- In the event of cancellation due to force majeure (e.g., extreme weather, pandemic, or government directive), the Organizer may, at its discretion, offer partial deferrals or alternative entries but is not liable to refund any part of the entry fee.
- Event Modification or Cancellation
The Organizer reserves the right to modify race routes, start times, or distances for safety or operational reasons. Significant updates will be communicated through official channels (website, email, and social media).
- Media and Data Consent
By participating, I grant the Organizer and its partners full rights to use my name, image, voice, and performance results in event-related materials, promotions, and documentation without compensation.
All personal data will be handled in accordance with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and used solely for event-related purposes.
- Code of Conduct
I agree to:
- Display respect, fairness, and sportsmanship toward all athletes, officials, and spectators.
- Avoid abusive, discriminatory, or unsportsmanlike conduct.
- Dispose of litter responsibly and protect the environment.
Failure to comply may result in penalties or disqualification without refund.
- Declaration of Understanding
By completing this registration, I confirm that:
- I have read and fully understood all the above terms and conditions
- I am voluntarily participating at my own risk;
- I am of legal age to sign this document or have obtained consent from my parent/guardian if under 18.
